Always on my Mind - Lucky Harbor # 8 - Jill Shalvis - Release: September 24, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
THERE'S NOTHING LIKE THE REAL THING
After dropping out of pastry school and messing up her big break on a reality cooking show, Leah Sullivan needs to accomplish something in her life. But when she returns home to Lucky Harbor, she finds herself distracted by her best friend, Jack Harper. In an effort to cheer up Jack's ailing mother, Dee, Leah tells a little fib - that she and Jack are more than just friends. Soon pretending to be hot-and-heavy with this hunky firefighter feels too real to handle . . .
No-strings attachments suit Jack just fine - perfect for keeping the risk of heartbreak away. But as Jack and Leah break every one of their "just friends" rules, he longs to turn their pretend relationship into something permanent. Do best friends know too much about each other to risk falling in love? Or will Jack and Leah discover something new about each other in a little town called Lucky Harbor?
MY REVIEW:
I read both this book, and Seeing Red back to back because I couldn’t seem to get enough. And sure enough, my TBR pile grew because I just had to go out and get the backlist for Jill Shalvis and start reading all of her previous novels. I must say I have officially turned into a fan and am in love with this series.
What a great story told here. I love the whole childhood friend love story and this one fits to the par just right. The way she also works in the animals into these stories is also a very cute touch. The romance didn’t seem over the top and the chemistry between these two was palpable.
I loved the bit of suspense Ms. Shalvis added in here. The entire story was gripping, hot, and more than steamy enough to leave me wanting more. I recommend not only this book, but the entire series to read!
Five out of five stars.

Seeing Red - Firefighter # 3 - Jill Shalvis - Release: August 6, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Summer Abrams nearly died trying to save her father from a warehouse fire that, in the end, took his life. Consumed by guilt, she never set foot back in the town where her world fell apart. But now, twelve years later, another fire has ripped through that very warehouse, drawing Summer back to Ocean Beach--and to the man who was once her best friend...and is now a wildly sexy fire marshal who ignites her deepest desires.
Walker Montana has spent most of his life keeping people at bay. Summer was the only person he'd ever let in, but she'd broken his heart--and then took off without a word. After all these years, she's back--and she won't leave until they track down the arsonist responsible for this latest fire. Now Walker, who swore he'd never fall for Summer again, discovers he can't resist the scorching heat between them--and suddenly he's wondering if all these hot nights could be become something more lasting...
MY REVIEW:
Okay, this was my first book by Jill Shalvis, and I gotta say—and I already warned her—I officially have a new author to stalk. I don’t know why I haven’t read her stuff before, but now that I have, I really don’t know how I am going to read anything else until I get through each of her releases.
Saving Red was a fun, sexy read that left me hot to trot and on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down and wanted to ignore my body’s call for sleep. The pacing of the book felt good, and the description and drama was spot on.
I saw a few reviews before reading this, and I understand this is a rerelease, so I have to say I am extremely confused at the lower ratings, but then again, I completely get how some individuals have their different tastes. What I can say is I totally recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a spicy story with a bit of Nora Roberts, Julie Ann Walker, and Nicolas Sparks mixed up. FYI—that’s the recipe of Jill Shalvis.

The Officer and the Secret, Semper Fi #3, Jeanette Murray, Release: July 2, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
After a rougher than expected deployment, Captain Dwayne Robertson craves the sense of normalcy that his friends can bring him. But when he returns home, there's an unexpected, but pleasant, twist in the mix—Veronica Gibson. As he struggles to adjust to daily life again, Dwayne craves Veronica and the peace she brings him. But Veronica isn't without faults. Dwayne hates lies, and Veronica's entire past is a well-guarded mystery. When the completely unexpected happens, they both realize it's time to lay their cards on the table and hope they're ready for love.
MY REVIEW:
The Officer and the Secret is a warm welcome to the romance scene. I really liked this book, even though I wished there would have been a bit more angst and sexiness. Outside of those two small bits, the story was well told, had a lot of talent in being written, and very well developed characters. I enjoyed reading as the sweet, budding romance pushed on and how both characters not only explored each other, but also themselves.
I’d recommend this book for anyone looking for less of an erotic edge that is held in the industry today and more sweetness, almost comparable to Nora Roberts type of heat level. Ms. Murray will draw you into her story and she refuses to let you up until you’ve turned that last page. Four out of five stars for a great job.

The Marriage Merger, book 4 - Jennifer Probst - Release: July 30, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Her sisters have found wedded bliss with their wealthy, wonderful dream men, but not Julietta Conte. She’s stayed on terra firma as top executive of the family’s corporation, La Dolce Famiglia bakery. Work is her passion, and her trendy Milan apartment her sanctuary . . . until Sawyer Wells, a masculine masterpiece in a suit, lures her out of hiding with an irresistible offer: an exclusive partnership with his international chain of boutique hotels.
Julietta’s been burned before—and trusting her brother-in-law’s friend, whose powerful gaze alone has her rethinking the best use of a conference room, is the riskiest proposition. But with a once-in-a-career chance to take the bakery global, will she mix stone-cold business with red-hot seduction.
MY REVIEW:
To anyone, who is anyone, and who knows me, knows that I love, love, LOVE Jennifer Probst and always boast about her series and how great I think she is. God, I really wanted to love this book, and I really and truly love the series, but this book didn’t do it for me. I can’t put a finger on any one single thing, so I’ll address what bothered me with it. Mind you, this is only my opinion, and my thoughts. To anyone who wants to get introduced to a great and talented author, please pick up a Jennifer Probst book today.
With this book, for some reason the action just seemed to be dragged on and on and on. I found myself skimming through paragraphs at a time or completely loosing track and wondering what I needed to get at the grocery store when my eyes were still moving on the page. Mind you, there were great parts that held my attention, but most of it didn’t do it. I found that it seemed to have a lot of “filler” that just didn’t add to the story.
I also found that the hero was a little predictable …
One thing that continued to bother me and still does is that I felt as if I had read this story before. I don’t know why, and without giving away key parts of it, there was something about her lack of ability and the way he responded, along with the “bet” that all seemed very familiar to me. I want to say that I have read it before somewhere, but at the moment I’m drawing a blank. And no, I’m not accusing Ms. Probst of anything, but it really does have very strong similarities. (Perhaps it’s a previous published book she’s done?)
All in all, while this book didn’t do it for me, the series is great and I wholly recommend you pick them up and read them today! 3.5 out of five stars.

Forgotten Sins - Rebecca Zanetti - Release: July 2, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
His Secrets Can Destroy Her
From the moment Josie laid eyes on sexy, mysterious Shane Dean, she was in love. Their desire ignited a passionate affair, and within weeks, Shane had slipped a ring on her finger. It seemed her every fantasy was coming true . . . until her new husband disappeared without a trace. Now, two years and one broken heart later, Josie is shocked by the hospital calls: Shane has been found . . . at a crime scene with no memory of how he got there.
Her Love Can Save Him
Shane can't remember the blue-eyed angel at his bedside—or who he even is—but he knows something isn't right. His hearing is razor sharp, his physical strength incredible, and the urge to protect Josie overwhelming. For powerful enemies are hunting him, and Josie is the key to discovering why. As Shane struggles to unravel his past, dangerous new truths come to light. Can he protect the only woman he's ever loved? And can Josie trust a man she thought she knew—one who carries such a deadly secret?
MY REVIEW:
I really wanted to like this book. It’s got a great title, a very sexy cover, and it sounded great. I was excited to read it, and that may have been my issue, because once I opened it up, I was let down. Don’t get me wrong, this author seemed to produce a good story, but it just didn’t quite get to where I wanted it to go.
Having a background in law enforcement and military, I found those parts lacking in the story. Some things actually seemed a bit cheesy and I was expecting to see a turning point, as if the way the book was going was just pulling my leg. But it wasn’t, or rather, didn’t.
The heroine confused me with her back and forth pull. Now, I know we all like to see the angst develop in if someone wants someone or not, and the drama between a hero and heroine is great; however with this heroine, she seemed like she needed medication more than anything. And she seemed to forget quite a bit just because she was thinking with something between her legs, rather than on her shoulders. Yikes. Sounds harsh, and I don’t intend it to be, but it’s true.
I really wanted to like it. Truly and really did. But I didn’t. And I couldn’t even finish it. L I will check out more from this author and give her another chance. Three out of five stars for effort.

Fire Inside - Chaos #2 - Kristen Ashley - Release: June 4, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Lanie Heron isn't looking for love-no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club . . .
For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She's too polished and too classy for his taste. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can't say no. And he doesn't regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that's ever happened to him-in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.
MY REVIEW:
So Ms. Ashley has proven to be an exciting new find as far as discovered authors go. From her list of books, it seems, I’m behind the game as far as just how *new* she is.
I enjoyed Own the Wind, book one in the Chaos series, so much that I was delighted when Netgalley posted book #2, Fire Inside. I literally sat around, tapping my foot, waiting for the exact moment for their approval. All I can say is this … book 2 was better than book 1, and that’s saying a lot.
I love the plot behind this piece, and without giving any spoilers away I can say I love the angst and drama that goes back and forth in this. Some authors it seems the drama and angst seem forced. With these two, the drama was very real. And the love development between them was also very believing.
So you’re looking for a new book and considering this? Well consider no further. If you like bad boys with a soft heart, so smexy scenes, and a kick ass heroine, then this book is for you.
4.5 stars out of five. Great job.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett thought she knew exactly where her life was going. But after a wild night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she shocks everyone-including herself-when she decides to leave the only life she's ever known and set out on her own. Grabbing her purse and her cell phone, Camryn boards a Greyhound bus ready to find herself. Instead, she finds Andrew Parrish.
Sexy and exciting, Andrew lives life like there is no tomorrow. He persuades Camryn to do things she never thought she would and shows her how to give in to her deepest, most forbidden desires. Soon he becomes the center of her daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But there is more to Andrew than Camryn realizes. Will his secret push them inseparably together-or destroy them forever?
MY REVIEW:
Thank you to Grand Central and Netgalley for not only the character to give an honest review in exchange for an ARC read, but also for introducing me to some spectacular new work.
Holy crap was this a great read. I’ve never in my life been taking on such an emotional journey as this book did. The way the author gathered the story together and subtly pieced everything as one at the end was really phenomenal. I couldn’t put the book down, and honest to god, really wanted to cry at times. It’s gut wrenching, spectacular, and terrifying all at once. It’s a book I’ll never forget.
Camryn and Andrew are two created characters that were meant for one another. While authors try to develop characters to be the same way, very few obtain the level of trust and connection as J.A. Redmerski did. I loved them from the get go and really loved the way they both touched my heart.
I truly hope to see more of these two, and of this author’s writing in the future. Five out of five stars for one hell of a job.

Own the Wind - Chaos bok #1 - Kristen Ashley - Release: April 2, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of Chaos--the Chaos Motorcycle Club, that is. Her father is Chaos' leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start. When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby's thinking about much more than friendship...
Tabby is everything Shy's ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can't have. She's beautiful, smart, and as his friend's daughter, untouchable. Shy never expected more than friendship, so when Tabby indicates she wants more--much more--he feels like the luckiest man alive. But even lucky men can crash and burn...
MY REVIEW:
First and foremost, thank you to Grand Central and Netgalley for not only the opportunity to give an honest review on this piece, but also for introducing me to an exciting new author.
This book is very moving. That’s the sentence I’d use to summarize just what I went through in reading this piece. I was floored several times by some of the developments the characters made, and despite some of the confusing word play, was engaged page by page.
Shy is a real character you can identify with. The author makes him believable and through his head, helps us go on the wild journey with him to find love. Tabby drove my insane with her lack of communication with Shy, but I couldn’t help falling in love with her as well.
Like I said to start, this book is very moving and will take you on the emotional rollercoaster of your life and one you won’t forget. The story will leave you wanting more and thankfully, as research and the next released ARC indicate, Ms. Ashley has made this into a series.
Great read, good fun, nice job. Four out of five stars.

Making Him Sweat - Wilinski's book 1 - Meg Maguire - Release: March 1, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
She's hitting below the belt... Round 1
In this corner is admittedly romantic Jenna Wilinski, who's inherited a rather seedy boxing gym from her estranged father. With it, she can realize her dream of launching an upscale matchmaking business...provided she can take on the very intimidating-and wickedly hot-boxer who stands in her way!
Round 2
In the far corner is former pro boxer Mercer Rowley. He's the only one who can protect his "home"-even if it is a little run down-from his determined and feisty little opponent. But man, once the gloves come off, his hands just want to touch her everywhere...
Round 3
This matchup is too close to call. But no matter which contender comes out on top, the other is sure to enjoy every minute of it...
REVIEW:
You know, this has been on my ‘to-be-read’ list for a few weeks and I’m officially kicking myself for not reading it sooner. Once I picked it up, I was unable to tear away from the pages. It was so full of just the right amount of chemistry, and the perfect dose of drama. I loved how the author wasn’t afraid to hold back, and made the characters seem so real.
The steamy scenes were a pure bonus in this piece as well, and I love how Ms. Maguire crafted the entire piece so perfectly.
If you are looking for a book that is unlike anything else on the market, one that will set the bar for others to follow, make sure you pick this piece up TODAY.
Five out of five stars for a job well done.

If you are looking for a book that is unlike anything else on the market, one that will set the bar for others to follow, make sure you pick this piece up TODAY.
Five out of five stars for a job well done.

REVIEW:
Wow! This was actually a very nicely written book. Ms. Cross has a definite way with words, and an eye for the insight into military operations.
I loved the conflict established her and actually followed along with the flow of feelings until I was practically screaming at the pages, waiting impatiently for them to GET IT ON!
The steam, the detail, the suspense, the action—all of it will make your experience with this story one that will be unforgettable!

If You See Her - The Ash Trilogy - Shiloh Walker - Release: January 31, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
A FACE IN THE MIRROR
Hope Carson may not look like a survivor, but she has escaped an abusive ex-husband and recovered from a vicious assault. Now she endures the painful memories and suspicious rumors surrounding her involvement in the attack. Her ex is a cop, so the last people she trusts are law enforcement officials—and she certainly doesn’t trust how the local DA makes her feel inside.
Remy Jennings should know better. He has no business falling for a woman who he suspects may have a deeply troubled mind. And even if he did make a move, she’d bolt like a frightened rabbit. But how can he deny a burning desire that threatens to consume him? As Hope’s past catches up with her in the worst way, Remy is determined to break through her defenses, earn her trust, and keep her safe in his arms—before it’s too late.
REVIEW:
I loved the pretense to the story and found it engaging, suspenseful, and exciting. Ms. Walker sure knows how to draw a character out of the page and make them seem so real to the reader.
While a majority of the book was slow, and I was tripped up with some of the writing, I do think this is a fabulous addition to Ms. Walker’s books, and readers will find delight in the thrill to follow along in this steamy, yet touching ride.

The last thing she needs is temptation—especially from a man who reminds her so much of the husband who shattered her faith in love. But passion and destiny are about to change the rules for two people who have stopped believing in the healing power of love.
REVIEW:
This book was unputadownable. Filled with angst, drama, and comedy, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. The heroine Tess, was spunky, tough, and had just enough insight to pick up on things before they happened. Poor thing had her heart broken and I really felt for her. While, at the end, I felt like screaming at her, the entire thing was very nicely played out. Laura Moor has definitely been added to my stalking list. Five out of five stars for a job well done.

REVIEW: WOW, this piece left me speechless. It’s in both a good and bad way. I like the premises of this story and, holy hell, it was hot as hell. The emotions of the character drew me through the book, and the backgrounds are so damn intriguing that I had to keep turning the page to learn more.
That being said, I was getting a bit frustrated by a few different things, many of which proved distracting. With the story, I felt as if I kept being thrust outside of the character’s head and I finally figured out it was mostly due to be told how she was feeling, instead of figuring that out on my own through the writer’s words. Some of the grammar seemed off at times as well and in the beginning; I was more than a little taken back with how fast they moved to unprotected sex. It was all a bit much, but I’ve heard so many good things about this book, that I decided to put on.
I wasn’t disappointed that I did and of course now, I’m racing to get to the next book. I do wish this piece could have been longer and it may have helped with the instant-love of this book. However, I do think readers will eat this piece up and the good news is, they will be able to do such in a matter of hours. Nicely done and I give it 3.5 out of five stars for a job well done.

Code Red - Amy Noelle - Release: April 11, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK: After getting hurt in college by a gorgeous man, Nicole Magette vowed never to risk losing her heart again. Now she lives a structured and satisfying life. Her work is easy, her friends are her family, and the only consistent men in her life are her two cats, Winchester and Huntington Peabody the Third. She doesn't date, and she hooks up only with losers—men she has absolutely no risk of falling for. But if she finds herself in danger, she has her old fail-safe in place—the Code Red.
In college, she and her four best friends came up with the system as a way to keep away the good-looking bastards that might worm their way past their carefully constructed walls. Seven years later, three of her friends have succumbed to their last Code Reds and are happily married. Now it’s just Nicole and her closest friend, Jen, who are still on their own, and Nic is just fine with that.
That is, until Joshua Daniels is transferred to Nicole’s office from New York and assigned to work with her on a special project. He's everything she's avoided and everything she claims she doesn't want, so why can’t she get him out of her mind? He's persistent, dangerously handsome, and sexy as sin. In other words, he’s her worst nightmare. She turns to her friends to help her resist Josh’s considerable charms and the inescapable draw she feels every time she gets near him. Can the Code Red save her this time, or will Josh send her perfectly balanced life into chaos?
REVIEW: This book is an example of the old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Code Red, which in today’s world where a lot of erotic romance gets attention, could also give someone a different opinion of what’s inside. However, on both aspects, the cover, and the title, gendering a guess before reading, would prove the reader’s initial assumption wrong.
I was pleasantly surprised and found this piece hard to put down. I’m not really a fan of first person, but this book written in any other POV would not have worked. Ms. Noelle managed to get it just right and get us really deep inside of Nicole’s head. Not only that, but even though we didn’t see intimately into Josh’s head, his emotions and genuine warmth were understood as well.
I liked the development of these two and the drama and conflict seemed genuine. Ms. Noelle knows her characters very well—and that comes through on paper. I found their relationship very believable and the writing very smooth to get through. Not only that, but the humor in the voice was a prime example of needing a bit of everything in a good read.
Overall, I’d give this 4.5 stars out of 5, and only a little mark on the situations in which I wanted to strangle our dear Nicole. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a good read to tackle over the weekend. Very nicely done and I can’t wait to see more from Ms. Noelle.

REVIEW:
OMG, this was such a nice treat! I had a hard time putting it down and got wrapped up in every word written, until long after I put it down, I was still thinking of these two characters.
What a nice story and a nice way to build up anticipation. I loved everything about this piece and definitely think Ms. Stone has done a fabulous job with this. It had it all, romance, sexy scene, suspense, action that shocks you to the core when it happens, sweet words, and a great sense of broody men you just want to cherish.
The story has it all. If you want a great read, and a book you won’t be able to tear yourself away from, pick this one up…now.

Midnight Secrets - Ella Grace - Release: April 30, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
AT THE STROKE OF MIDNIGHT, THE HEAT BEGINS
On a hot southern night, with a storm on the horizon, a family is shattered. Three beautiful daughters—Savannah, Samantha, and Sabrina Wilde—go on with their lives, each significantly changed, as they bear the memory of the murder-suicide that killed their parents. For years, they have stayed away from Midnight, Alabama. Until Midnight calls them home.
Savannah is the first one back, when a grueling case in Nashville leads the young prosecutor to seek shelter in the quiet of the once grand Wilde mansion. But when she finds letters casting doubt on her family’s dark, shameful past, she realizes that peace in Midnight is a shallow façade and sinister secrets lurk beneath the surface. Zach Tanner, once the town’s bad boy, is now the new police chief and still has a wild hold over her. Zach can feel it, too, but he hurt Savannah once. As teenagers, they broke every rule together. Now it’s his job to keep her safe, even though he isn’t sure who her enemies are—or which ones might be his own.
REVIEW:
Okay, okay, I have to say this was a good read. Was it great? Not exactly, but would I recommend it? Yes.
I liked how it started out. The mystery was within the first few pages and it set a great tone for the rest of the book. When the POV changed from the antagonist to that of a young teen, it had me cringing slightly, but wasn’t too bad. The best part was though, the last three quarters of the book, when the action and plot really kicked off.
Now, why three stars you ask? Well, I will tell you the writing and some of the lines were not up to par for me. Some of it seemed really cheesy at times, and a bit cliché. I found many issues with grammar, and I wasn’t even looking.
I won’t say it was a terrible book, because it wasn’t and I definitely am looking forward to the next in the series. Ms. Grace has me liking a few of her secondary characters and I’m hoping for their HEA in the future.
If you want some action, a lot of background so you can understand just where the characters are coming from, and many second guesses through the story, make sure you pick this piece up. Three out of five stars for a good job.

The Risk-Taker - Kira Sinclair - Release: January 1, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Subject: Totally buff ranger Gage Harper Current Status: Walking wounded—both physically and mentally
Mission: Finally get the girl he could never have
Obstacle: She may just be the biggest risk he's ever taken
All returned POW Gage Harper wants to do is forget, even if he has to let some gym rat beat him to a pulp to do it. He certainly doesn't want to tell the tale of his heroism to the tabloids. Especially since he's no hero . But one journalist is determined to get the inside scoop-and she's the only girl Gage has never been able to resist.
Hope Rawlings never took Gage's romantic advances seriously growing up. After all, she was just his buddy, and a guy like Gage could have any girl he wanted. But now she needs his story to get her dream job in the city. And she's willing to do anything to get it.
REVIEW: You know, I’ve never read a book of Ms. Sinclair’s and if anyone follows the amount of reading I do, do, you’d understand that as a shocker. Reading over 125 books a year, I opened this one and for the rare times I am able to say this, couldn’t put it down!
The premises and plot of this story was unbelievable, and in a good way! I loved the in-depth characterization Kira was able to develop and found the building of the relationship between the hero and heroine just right. It wasn’t too rushed, nor did you feel like things were dragging out.
In my experience the whole childhood love thing is often looked at as overused, but that wasn’t the case in this piece. It was all very well played out and I found my heart aching for them both. It took me about four hours to read this and when I was done, I wanted to read it all over again.
If you are looking for great action, read-worthy angst, and hot, sensually raw scenes, then pick this one up! I’ll warn you now though, have the fan and ice ready though, because this gets HOT!
Five out of five stars for a job well done.

Now she’s earned her MBA and come to work at Michael’s new venture, America’s fastest-growing bakery empire. But some things never change: her family still treats her like a child. With three drop-dead gorgeous siblings, she’s still the ugly duckling of the bunch. And Max, the company’s new CEO, still barely notices her.
Max knows Carina Conte is strictly off limits. But hot-blooded lust wins out at a conference when the two share a scorching one-night stand—and are busted by her mother! Now, forced by old-world Italian tradition into a marriage he’s not ready for, Max is miserable—and Carina is furious. Her new husband is about to realize that hell hath no fury like a woman transformed…
REVIEW: I haven’t read the second of this series, but I read the first and LOVED it. The third installment is no different. Ms. Probst knows her characters, and knows angst and how to combine it with romance to bring it all together in a pretty little package.
I simply could not put down this book and was engaged for my entire Sunday in order to finish it. The laundry went undone, the kids had left over pizza, and my house is currently a mess, but it was so worth it as I lost myself in this beautifully crafted novel.
The character development and revisits by previous characters was spot on and built so well. It almost seems as if Ms. Probst does all this so effortlessly as it flows as smooth as silk. You never see the wavering of characters and each of them grow in the story as well as in your head like a long lost friend.
If you’re looking for a piece to lose yourself in and find that you need a great love story that will leave you shocked to your core, then The Marriage Mistake is the read for you. Five out of five stars for a job well done!

REVIEW: Oh….wow. I think those two words will about sum it up. Now, let me first just say that I am guilty of reading other reviews, if available, before I start in on a piece. I do that cause I review quite a few but even though I do these reviews as a dedicated reader, I still want to enjoy what I read.
So that being said, I saw a few disappointing reviews on this but more so, a lot of really good reviews. I was nervous about which side I would fall in and I have to say this now…I have no idea what some were complaining about. This was a fantastic read and held action all the way till the end. Just when you think Ms. Walker is done with the novel, BAM, she tosses one more thing your way.
Stolen is a lovely piece that touches not only on suspense, but also every author’s and most people’s fears – identity theft.
It was a wonderful read that I had a hard time putting down – sans Hurricane Sandy hitting my state. I would recommend this piece to anyone looking for a different kind of book and one that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
Five out of five stars for a great job!

Cowboy Outcast - Stacey Espino - Release: July 2, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK: Callum O’Shea has segregated himself from a world that rejected him since childhood. His older brother, Arden, protected him from life…but even he can only take so much of the isolation.
When a young university student offers to help with Callum’s hog problem in exchange for room and board, he’s not in a financial position to refuse. He’s surprised when she doesn’t judge him for his Tourette’s Syndrome. But he’s learned that good things rarely last.
Hailey Watson tried to prove her parents wrong by being the best scientist she could be. When her research funding is cut off, her world spirals out of control. With the help of Callum and Arden, the reclusive Irish cowboys, she learns there is more to life than success at her job. But are the two hardcore cowboys capable of real love?
REVIEW: Ms. Espino caught my attention with this one from the first word. Very rarely today will we find a piece that also works in some sort of “medical issue” one of the lead characters may have. Espino managed to work Tourette’s into this piece and the way she did it was not only enlightening but oh, so sexy.
The character development was great and the only issue I had was that I wished it was longer – yes, that is how much I liked the book.
If you’re looking for a quick read that will spice it up along with giving you a completely new insight into a characters mind – check this piece out and add it to your TBR pile.

Name: Archibald Jeffrey Stevenson III
Rank: First Lieutenant, Dap Hawk Copilot
Mission: Strategy and execution of special ops maneuvers
Name: Kee Smith
Rank: Sergeant, Night Stalker Gunner and Sharpshooter
Mission: Whatever it takes to get the job done
You Wouldn't Think It Could Get Worse, Until It Does...
When a special mission slowly unravels, it is up to Kee and Archie to get their team out of an impossible situation with international implications. With her weaponry knowledge and his strategic thinking, plus the explosive attraction that puts them into exact synchrony, together they might just have a fighting chance.
REVIEW: Mr. Buchman has a way to take a war environment and turn it into a hot romance. He hit all the right buttons for this military piece and I was amazed at how well – read: I suspect he either knows of someone or was in the service himself – he knew the way to go through the scenes. As a prior military member, I was pleasantly surprised at how very real the statements and information was.
The characters in this piece were very good and their development very nice.
If you’re looking for a piece that will keep you on the edge of your seat, look no further. This is it!

Dark Knight - Donna Kauffman - Release: September 10, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK:
A rogue warrior who challenged her to taste the pleasures of surrender. . .
He was her mission, a midnight capture she'd trained for, but Logan Blackstone sensed her presence in the isolated cabin--and pinned agent Scottie Giardi to the bed! Utterly primitive, stark naked, and dangerous in every way that mattered, Logan demanded the truth in a voice as seductive as it was lethal. Recklessly aroused by this dark god, Scottie responded with potent abandon, but once he'd claimed her soul, would he keep it?
Fierce and mesmerizing, achingly intense and breathlessly sensual, Donna Kauffman's sizzling story of perfectly matched adversaries is one of her wildest--and one of her best! He tantalized her, overwhelmed her, and taught her the exquisite thrill of losing control, but could a woman who never played it safe find sanctuary in this renegade's heart?
REVIEW:
Ms. Kauffman has the goods and talent to create extremely like-able characters. The beginning managed to capture and ensnare me into pushing forward. The humor was irresistible and the sex appeal simply phenomenal. I loved Logan and Scottie and found myself wishing for these two to get together and loving every bit of build-up.
Opening chapter: “He grumbled something, then wrenched onto his stomach as if some invisible force had shoved him. Her mouth went dry. A coil of white linen between his legs was all that covered him. Somewhere she found enough spit to swallow. But she couldn't dredge up a denial. She wanted that sheet gone. In fact, she curled her hands into fists against the temptation to step into the room, grab the sheet and tug it the rest of the way off of him.
The man was simply too glorious to be covered. He deserved to be naked. He had the kind of sprawled grace that would make artists of any medium salivate.”
Oh. My. God. Enough said? I think so.
Now, you may be wondering why if I liked it so much, I’m giving it only 3 and ½ stars. Well the reason is this. We had a good rhythm going, the buildup and suspense was great and then when suddenly Logan is needed to go into an undercover mission? It cuts to several weeks later. I felt cheated out of the story, out of what happened when he went on said meeting and met up with his brother.
It was a bit of a letdown, but outside of that, the writing is great and the romance was spot on.
I will try out another book of hers and hopefully, this time, I’ll get the full scoop.

Until There Was You - Jessica Scott - Release: October 8, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK: He plays by the rules, she’s not afraid to break them. Now these two strong-willed army captains will prove that opposites attract . . .
A by-the-book captain with a West Point background, Captain Evan Loehr refuses to mix business with pleasure—except for an unguarded instance years ago when he succumbed to the deep sensuality of redheaded beauty Claire Montoya. From that moment on, though, Evan has been at odds with her, through two deployments to Iraq and back again. But when he is asked to train a team prepping for combat alongside Claire, battle-worn Evan is in for the fight of his life.
Strong, gutsy, and loyal, Captain Claire Montoya has worked hard to earn the rank on her chest. In Evan, Claire sees a rigid officer who puts the rules before everything else—including his people. When the mission forces them together, Claire soon discovers that there is more to Evan than meets the eye.
He’s more than the rank on his chest; he’s a man with dark secrets and deep longings. For all their differences, Evan and Claire share two crucial passions: their country and each other.
REVIEW: Ms. Scott knows her military and she has mastered her men!
This piece was an easy read, and even with all of the training, was easy to understand. It wasn’t only the military exercises and rules that she gave to the reader easily but also that of her characters. Ms. Scott has built two amazing people who run constantly back and forth to and from one another. It creates tension and yet, at the same time, builds amazing chemistry.
I loved how Ms. Scott played things out and found myself wishing for more.
The only hang up I have to this is I didn’t feel completely engaged at times. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I wanted to like the characters more, yet I couldn’t seem to even force myself to do so. Some of the decisions Claire made also frustrated me and got me wondering how someone would throw away so much when they were an officer in the military.
However, in the end it’s a magical, hot piece that’ll leave you grasping for more. Ms. Scott sure knows how to butter us all up! Four out of five stars!

But after meeting Elizabeth and discovering that the buttoned-up beauty is a sexy siren in disguise, he just can't pull himself away.
Now Brant needs Elizabeth to finally put his past to rest, but is she willing to risk her future on Bramble's newest bad boy?
REVIEW: Oh…my…God, this was a fantastic read! I really enjoyed the suspense kept throughout this piece and thoroughly enjoyed the buildup in tension between the hero and heroine.
Ms. Lane does a phenomenal job at building everything up. She doesn’t give too much away and allows it to seep in before she moves on to another piece you are waiting for. The premises is entirely original and completely a welcomed addition to the romance genre.
I definitely think this is a piece that you will want to snatch up as soon as it hits the market. Five out of five stars for a job well done!

An Inconvenient Affair - Catherine Mann - Release: August 7, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Hillary Wright has always been a magnet for Mr. Wrong. Her latest left her in trouble with the law, and to clear her name, she's agreed to an undercover sting—as the "date" for infamous Troy Donavan. The notorious hacker is now a government good guy and a sexy billionaire playboy. Troy has a reputation as the sort of man she's vowed to avoid, and his secretiveness adds fuel to Hillary's distrust. But with his kisses like molten sin, her fierce resistance is melting. And being sensible in the face of such overpowering desire is just not an option.
REVIEW: *laughing* This book was fabulous. It has all the action you need, on all three levels: Action, Romance, and Comedy. I found myself drawn completely to this piece and unable to put it down.
The character development didn’t seem pushed and was quite natural. The budding romance was even better. I loved the conflict these two faced and found myself rooting for each of them.
Troy’s bad boy ways were the perfect fit into this piece and the read was very easy to get through. I can’t wait to see more from this series and have added Ms. Mann to my “must-read-list.”

ABOUT THE BOOK:
SHE'S GOT THE SIGHT
For museum curator Jillian Talbot, her ability to see an object's history is her little secret. She never expects it to land her in the middle of a deadly battle for money and power between dangerous underground elements. The object of their greed: an ancient crystal lens that can unlock mysteries from the past... but only for someone with the sight. The one person who doesn't seem to want her dead is a cynical tomb raider who Jillian can only hope is worthy of her trust...
HE'S IN TOO DEEP
Simon Bonner has paid the last of his debts and is out of the looting game...until the lens lands on his doorstep. The other half of the crystal's secret is locked inside the eyes of a straitlaced psychic who still believes in doing the right thing. Now he must track the mystery deep into Mexico, where his desire to stay alive and his growing passion for the sexy seer make every move a dance with danger.
OUT OF TIME
Tomorrow could be history.
REVIEW: This was actually a bit out of the normal for romantic suspense that I’ve read. In a way, the whole time I was reading it I was thinking Indiana Jones meets When Harry Met Sally. Out of Time is packed full of non-stop action that has you gripping the pages and turning them as fast as you can.
The romantic elements were just right and provided just the right amount of build within Jillian and Simon. I loved the development of characters and the great twist at the end. I can see this piece turning into a series and would definitely pick up the next books if that were the case.
The only downside I had to the piece was at times the writing bothered me to a degree. It seemed like there were a lot of extra words but overall, it doesn’t distract from the story too much.
I did enjoy this and found my Sunday whooshed away in this fantastic piece. It’s one you want to read. Go get it now. Four out of five stars.

In Rides Trouble - Black Knights, Inc #2 - Julie Ann Walker - Release: September 4, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Becky "Rebel" Reichert never actually goes looking for trouble. It just has a tendency to find her. Like the day Frank Knight showed up at her door, wanting to use her motorcycle shop as a cover for his elite special ops team. But Becky prides herself on being able to hang with the big boys-she can weld, drive, and shoot just as well as any of them.
Man with a Mission
Munitions, missiles, and mayhem are Frank's way of life. The last thing the ex-SEAL wants is for one brash blonde to come within fifty feet of anything that goes boom. Yet it's just his rotten luck when she ends up in a hostage situation at sea. Come hell or high water, he will get her back-whether she says she needs him or not.
REVIEW:
In Rides Trouble was filled with such a fantastic, crazy ride! Ms. Walker sure knows how to create her characters and I found myself riveted to every…single…word.
This piece drove on and on with action and suspense. It was both touching and humorous. It was wicked and hot. It was everything you want a great book to be.
There is no piece of this book that I didn’t like and in fact, I loved the internalized thoughts of Becky and her confliction for her feelings for Frank.
You will laugh, cry, and scream at this book but with each step of the way you will grow to love it more and more. I give this amazing piece five out of five stars for a job well done.

REVIEW:
Holy crow, this was really good. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did and now I’m cursing the fact that I didn’t read this sooner. Many thanks to Netgalley for this ARC and the chance to review.
Ms. Walker has a way with words and gives the reader such an insight into a secretive world. This, of course, is the third in the Black Knights series and it has me going in to buy the first two. Black Knights is based on a group of men who are Navy Seals, the best of their kind, she relays, who build up their own secret defense agency. These boys scream hotness and will have you laughing and crying all at once.
Walker has done an amazing job at character building and keeping the reader in suspense until the very end. This particular story was woven with such conflict and a sweet ending that literally left me wanting more.
I have to give it to Ms. Walker and her amazing literary ability. She is truly one author you don’t want to pass up. Five out of five stars for a job well done.

REVIEW:
Oh what a sweet read. This one had me laughing out loud, nose buried in the book, dishes didn’t get done – loving it.
Ms. Christopher has a way with words and manages to ensnare you with her stories. Charlotte and Jake were just too funny in this book and had undeniable attraction with one another. The romance was built up by the author – not given – and it made the story that much better.
This book is number one in the series and I can’t wait to read more. Ms. Christopher has since been added to my TBR file for an amazing and wonderful job.
If you want a story that will give you giggles and a few swoons, then pick this one up. Well done, five out of five stars.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
She once led him around by a string. Now he’s the one holding the reins.
Georgia Hotchkiss swore wild horses couldn’t drag her back to Sundance, Wyoming. So it’s ironic she’s forced to take a rodeo PR job in her former hometown—right before her ten-year class reunion. The only thing worse than facing her cheating ex-husband and his pregnant wife? Showing up to the reunion without a date. Fate smiles on her when she runs into her former classmate and current cowboy hottie Tell McKay. With his infectious smile and fun-loving ways—not to mention his banging body—he’s the perfect solution to her problem.
Tell McKay had it so bad for Hot Lips Hotchkiss during high school that he let her run roughshod over him. But he is no longer that easily manipulated boy—these days he’s earned a reputation with the ladies that lives up to the McKay last name. He agrees to escort her to the reunion with one stipulation; that Georgia proves she has left behind the goody-goody cheerleader of the past—by sharing his bed.
Their sexual chemistry flashes so bright, they barely notice that the reunion has come and gone, and now they’re tangled up in another dreaded “R” word—relationship. But if Tell wants to get the girl this go-around, he’ll have to come up with a whole new set of knots to tie up her heartstrings.
Warning: Contains a sweet talkin’ wild cowboy with a wagon load of crazy-hot sex fantasies and the mad bedroom skills to back up his claims.
REVIEW:
Would you really be surprised if I said this book was hilarious, hot, and GREAT? I didn’t think so. Ms. James has done it again. She manages to take these cowboys and make such a great story with them.
I loved Tell’s story. He was such a sweet and sexy one. Georgia was great too and I found myself rooting her on. These two were so unbelievable sexy together but more so they were HILARIOUS!
I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for some laughs and a nice, steamy romance. Take caution though – you will need ICE! Five out of five stars for a job well done!

Killer Secrets - Katie Reus - Released: March 22, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Journalist Eve Newman stumbles across the murder of a prominent member of her west Texas town and finds herself the target of a shadowy killer. When the body goes missing and the police don’t believe she saw it happen, she turns to the only man in town she can trust; her deceased brother’s best friend.
Former Marine, Macklin Quinn, has been half in love with Eve since they were kids, but he’s always considered her off-limits. When she turns to him for help he can’t send her away. Within twenty-four hours it’s clear she’s in trouble and someone wants her dead. Mac will do everything in his power to keep the feisty journalist alive and help her bring down the killer. And if they can stay alive long enough, he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her they’re meant to be together.
REVIEW:
This book held my attention – but unfortunately it was held by the romantic aspect alone. The plot, while interesting, seemed a bit excessive. I think it is a good read, but I’d be happy at seeing something a little more believable.
The characters Eva and Mack were lovely to see and I wish there could have been more of them. I liked the background Ms. Reus gave to them and found myself wishing they’d get together as well.
The writing seemed to have extra words, some of which could have been taken out and made the story stronger. I do look forward to watching Ms. Reus grow as a writer and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
3 out of 5 stars for a nice, quick read.

Hollywood Ever After, Book 1 - Sasha Summers - Released: July 14, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Happy Endings are for fairy tales. Or the movies. Not for real life. At least, not in Claire’s life. Even though she’s starting over, she knows better than to want too much this time. But when she falls, literally, into the strong arms of Hollywood’s ‘it’ boy Josh Wiley, Claire’s in for some surprises. Her plans for rest and relaxation are forgotten as one incredible night with Josh becomes two… And her heart begins to want him as much as her body. Will two kids, one bastard ex-husband, and Josh’s juggernaut career mean the end of their affair? Or can Claire find her happy ending after all?
REVIEW:
This was an interesting read. It’s written in the first person, which typically isn’t a good read for me but this one stood out. I think it stood out, not for the writing (although that was nice) but more so for the topic, the plot of the story. The plot surrounds something that could be considered touchy in today’s world but I believe Ms. Summers did a great job at relaying an important message. I enjoyed the build up and think the ending was perfectly placed.
The characters were great, I loved Josh and Claire and found myself following along in their building romance with ease. The sex scenes weren’t too much and the family time, the romance was spot on. I loved the secondary characters Ms. Summers brought to us and found myself loving each and every one of them as well.
The only problem I had with this book was pieces of the writing. It seems like a lot of it was fill in data, almost telling us things and I found extra words that didn’t make any sense or add to the sentence. Ms. Summers could have removed those extra words and made the book shine. Instead, I found myself frustrated by them at times.
Over all it really is an intriguing read and one that I will remember for years to come. I loved the message and enjoyed following the romance aspect of it. I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars. I look forward to watching Ms. Summer’s grow as a writer and watching this series play out.

Undone By Her Touch - Maya Banks - Pregnancy and Passion - April 1, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK: Just one night? Yeah, right. Pippa Laingley should have known better. When an unplanned evening of passion with Cameron Hollingsworth results in unplanned pregnancy, she's at a crossroads. She knew going in that the enigmatic entrepreneur had built a fortress around his feelings. What she's just discovered is that he's loved and lost before—wife and child.
Tragically.
Now Cam stands to lose it all again. If he lets Pippa get too close. If he pushes her away with loveless arrangements of financial support. Either way, he's doomed…unless he can let himself love again.
THE REVIEW: Ms. Banks amazes me every…single…time. She has an ability to choose any topic and draw me in. Hell, she could be talking about the Periodic Table of Elements and I’d follow each one of her words as if they were water and I was on a stranded island.
This book gripped me right away and drew me in to the drama. The beginning throws us right into the problem and it made sense to do it that way. Ms. Banks has a way about her writing that is smooth and again, gripping. Her scenes flowed well from one to the next and I sat there reading, falling in love with Pippa and Cameron as we went.
Pippa is just the right female for a broken hearted Cameron and it sure takes him awhile to realize that. But it’s what makes the story THAT good. There was one point in the book that I felt tears prickling behind my lids – and that speaks for the author herself and just how well she writes.
This is number four in her series but it won’t be the only book I’ll read – I’m definitely picking up the other three now that I’ve read this great book. Five out of five stars for a job well done.

The Player - J.R. Ward/Jessica Bird - The Moorehouse Legacy - May 29, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK: Ruthless might as well be Gray Bennett's middle name. When the renowned Washington, D.C., insider talks, powerful people listen. But Gray hasn't come home to Saranac Lake to play politics. Or play at all. A tragedy has shaken the unshakable Gray Bennett to his hardened core.
And so has the most unlikely of women.
The mousy redhead who used to run around the Moorehouse B and B—the one he never noticed—is now all fiery hair and lush curves. But sweet Joy Moorehouse is too innocent for a cynic like him. So Gray won't let himself lay a hand on her…until the night he can no longer resist the woman she has become. That's when he discovers a secret that leaves him gasping for breath—and wanting more.
THE REVIEW: Ms. Ward has done it again. This book was packed full of romantic suspense and drama that left me on the edge of my seat. Ms. Ward managed to catch a well-known issue between friends and played it out in an entirely new light that will leave many wanting the story to keep going on and on.
It was a quick read – but that was mostly due to the fact that I didn’t want to stop. I plowed through this in a few hours and fell deeply in love with Gray and Joy. The high tension that builds and builds suddenly explodes in a scene that will drop your jaw and break your heart – for both characters.
The ending was nicely wrapped up and the writing entirely smooth. If you’re looking to step outside of the normal paranormal world Ms. Ward writes, then this is a book I would recommend. Five out of five stars for a sweet, action packed read.

teenage years behind. The last thing she wants or needs in her life is a man.
But when she is attacked by someone from her past, a scarred stranger
intervenes, saving her life and that of her little girl. Looks can be

for the first time in her life, she knows the stirrings of desire.
Broken on the outside
Nathaniel West paid a high price serving with the Marines in Afghanistan. He returned to his family’s ranch in the Colorado mountains to heal—and be alone. Disfigured as he is, he has put all thoughts of sex and romance aside. But something about Megan brings him back to life, heats his blood, makes him feel like a man again. As danger pursues her, and the truth about her past is revealed, he vows to protect her—and to heal her wounded spirit.
But confronting the past is never easy—especially when it’s carrying a gun. Megan will have to learn to trust Nate to survive and to claim a passion that is much more than … Skin Deep.
Includes a Bonus Story, Marc & Julian Make a Beer Run
Ride along with Marc, Julian, Zach, Gabe, Reece, Nate, and Joaquin as a beer run turns out to be more than they bargained for.
Review: Oh…my…GOD. She’s done it again! Pamela Clare has a true gift for writing and even beyond that, understanding just what a reader is looking for. Her males in the I-Team series are hot, sexy, charming, and full of such comedy that always leave me wanting more.
Reading about Megan’s follow up story and meeting Nick was just a highlight of this book. Ms. Clare has the ability to draw you in and hold you captive right on down to the last word in the book. Her writing is superb, the scenes always so full, and the chemistry between the characters on edge. I loved how she brought Megan’s story full circle and gave us a chance to see into her mind’s eye after the last book.
The bonus of this one was that we had a chance to follow up on the other characters from the series. This is something many authors often leave out, but with Ms. Clare, you can’t help but to grin.
The bonus story at the end is definitely one you don’t want to miss and had me laughing out loud at the boy’s antics.
All in all, while a short read – yes I wanted more – I couldn’t put this book down and ended up finishing it in just under four hours. Ms. Clare has a true gift that anyone would be a fool to pass up. I give this book five stars and a huge recommendation for anyone!!!
