Driving Her Wild - Wilinski #3 - Meg Maguire - Release: November 1, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Winning is good. Succumbing is even better…
Evasion
Recently retired pro MMA fighter Steph Healy is through having rough-and-tumble romps with sexy blue-collar dudes. Unfortunately, Wilinski's Fight Academy has hired an electrician with a body built to make a gal weep. And avoiding some full-body contact is taking all of Steph's self-control.
Grapple
Carpenter-turned-electrician Patrick Doherty is damn good with his hands. Sure, he's not what Steph is looking for—yet. But he's about to prove that she has seriously underestimated her opponent….
Submission
The moment Patrick has her deliciously pinned, Steph knows she's in deep, deep trouble. Because this seemingly mild carpenter has the mastery to give her exactly what she needs…and this is one takedown she's willing to take lying down.
MY REVIEW:
So anyone who knows me, knows I’m a huge Meg Maguire fan, and I became her fan with the first book in this series. I gotta say she’s hit the ball out of the park with these guys, the idea, and the lovely lady behind what is driving the fictional story.
I love that new characters are getting introduced here, and more so, that they aren’t your average run-of-the-mill type of creation. They are different, flawed, not perfect, and that is what makes this series so great. I also love how the author manages to give you updates to how the rest of the team is doing as well.
The writing flowed smoothly, and the Patrick was absolutely adorable.
My problem with the book and reason for giving it 4 stars, instead of five? Steph. She was almost unlikeable. I know I just got done preaching that characters are great flawed, but she almost went over the line with it. She was a bit confusing, too, with jumping back and forth with her emotions.
In any event, the comedy of this book will have you laughing out loud at times, the love will have you smiling, and the heat will have you shivering. It was a great book with a bit of the normal erotic content toned down, but the love was still blazing!
Four out of five stars for a great job!

Reckless - Skye Jordan - Release: August 23, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
A couture wedding dress designer to the rich and famous, Lexi LaCroix’s image means everything. But crossing paths with a sexier-than-sin, bad-boy biker makes Lexi realize how much living she’s sacrificed for her success and one touch is all it takes to threaten her carefully choreographed life. When that touch fills far more than just Lexi’s physical needs, she finds herself torn between the career she needs and the bad-boy she craves.
Jax Chamberlin gave up the superficial life of acting for the thrill of running his own stunt company years ago. But a recent betrayal proves he’s still too close to the limelight to find a woman who doesn’t plan to use him as a stepping-stone to success. When the charming and mysterious Lexi offers him a totally anonymous hook-up during an out of town trip, Jax accepts. Only Lexi is more sextacular than charming, and Jax wants more.
But Lexi’s got a major hang-up over his renegade lifestyle, and Jax isn’t willing to change his ways. Especially not when he discovers who she really is. Because if she finds out his connections could catapult her to the top of her career, he’s afraid the fantasy woman he’s falling for might just end up like all the other gold-diggers. And this time, it’s not just his bad-boy reputation at risk, but his heart, too.
MY REVIEW:
I had such a hard time putting this book down. It kept me captivate from the first word, to the last.
I understand that Skye Jordan also writes under another name, and I found that out when I started stalking this author, after I read Reckless. All I can say is I am extremely happy that there are more books I can IMMEDIATELY buy—to read—because yes, she is that good.
Reckless was everything I was looking for in an erotic romance book. It was hot, engaging, not over the top, and it managed to hold my attention for long bouts in time. The heat level of this book wasn’t cheesy, but instead the scenes made you feel as if you were drawn right in, and sitting there watching the act unfold before your eyes! (Now, that would be a little weird if an actuality, but hey, different strokes.)
I love how Jordan pulled these two characters together. It was creative and interesting, a new turn on introductions. What also amazed me is technically these two characters didn’t really “know the full truth” until at least a little over halfway through the story. It was genius!
If you want to read a story that will steam your windows and keep you up all night long, make sure you pick up Reckless today. Matter of fact, do it, do it now! Five out of five stars!

Slow Surrender - Cecilia Tan - Release: August 6, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
From the moment waitress Karina meets him in a New York bar, she knows James is different. Daring. Dominating. Though he hides his true identity from her, the mysterious, wealthy businessman anticipates her every desire and fulfills her secret fantasies. Awakened by his touch, Karina discovers a wild side she hadn't known existed and nothing is off limits.
She aches for more . . .
What begins as an erotic game soon escalates to a power play that blurs the line between pleasure and pain. Even as she capitulates to James's sensual demands, Karina craves more. She wants his heart, his soul. She wants his love . . . and she'll break all the rules to get it.
MY REVIEW:
So this was my first book by Cecilia Tan and it definitely won’t be my last. I totally digged the whole premises of this story and found it engaging, hot, and often times—hilarious.
So you’re probably wondering why four stars and not five, right? Well that’s two fold. One, when this story started it was gripping and had me on the edge of my seat. I thought the scene was well placed and I was curious to see where it’d go. But soon after that I saw that it was going like most of the books I’ve read this past year did. Of course those books are popular, but they are only popular because they haven’t been overdone. But it’s getting there….like vampires.
The other thing with this that sorta had me sighing in a not so good way was the relationship secrets here. I wanted Karina to stick up for herself. I didn’t want this to just be about sex. But she let “James” basically take their relationship to a joke level with how he kept turning it around to sex. And then the cliffhanger! Don’t get me started…
All in all, Ms. Tan has written a very steamy book, one I think will sell like a wildfire goes through dry brush. I hope the series does pick up it’s own originality but I totally recommend to read it. Just make sure you have cold water sitting nearby…oh, and ice. Lots of ice. ;)

Complete Me - Stark #3 - J. Kenner - Release: July 30, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
This sexy, emotionally charged romance continues the story of Damien Stark, the powerful multimillionaire who’s never had to take “no” for an answer, and Nikki Fairchild, the Southern belle who only says “yes” on her own terms.
Our desire runs deep. But our secrets cut close. Beautiful, strong, and commanding, Damien Stark fills a void in me that no other man can touch. His fierce cravings push me beyond the brink of bliss—and unleash a wild passion that utterly consumes us both.
Yet beneath his need for dominance, he carries the wounds of a painful past. Haunted by a legacy of dark secrets and broken trust, he seeks release in our shared ecstasy, the heat between us burning stronger each day.
Our attraction is undeniable, our obsession inevitable. Yet not even Damien can run from his ghosts, or shield us from the dangers yet to come.
MY REVIEW:
This book gave the trilogy a fabulous ending (or at least, I think it’s the ending). Like the other two books, the sex scorched the pages, and the attraction between these two is palpable. The writing flows through the book, to where before you know it, you’re on the last chapter, and sad to see it over.
I took a star off this last book for a very distinct reason: I felt as if there wasn’t a whole lot of angst in this last part. The book almost seemed just like a diary of each day without any suspense in something going wrong—which was a very real part of books one and two.
Outside of that though, as always, Ms. Kenner has managed to really pull out a great story and provide great characters that I’m sad to see go. I’d recommend this book—and series—to anyone looking for a little spice and a whole lot of hotness! Four out of five stars.

Making it Last - Camelot # 4 - Ruthie Knox - Release: July 15, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
A hotel bar. A sexy stranger. A night of passion. There’s a part of Amber Mazzara that wants those things, wants to have a moment — just one — where life isn’t a complicated tangle of house and husband and kids and careers. Then, after a long, exhausting “vacation” with her family, her husband surprises her with a gift: a few days on the beach . . . alone.
Only she won’t be alone long, because a handsome man just bought her a drink. He’s cool, he’s confident, and he wants to take Amber to bed and keep her there for days. Lucky for them both, he’s her husband. He’s only got a few days in Jamaica to make her wildest desires come true, but if he can pull it off, there’s reason to believe that this fantasy can last a lifetime.
MY REVIEW:
Oh. My. God. I’ve rarely had a book that makes me cry, and touches in a way no other. With Ruthie Knox, she somehow always manages to do it, and with this book, it was no different.
This was such a sweet story that really hit on just what happens after the couple is married, and it also shows that happily ever after isn’t always the case. The way Ms. Knox gets you to care about these characters and just how much she can move you through words speaks of her talent and the amazing structure in how she places words together.
I loved this story and fully recommend it to anyone, married or not, young or old, romantic or not. It’s one I can guarantee you’ll leave on your bookshelf for years to come, one you’ll fall in love with over and over again. And one that will leave you wanting more.
Five out of five stars for a great job.

Claimed - Club Sin, book 1 - Stacey Kennedy - Release: August 5, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Presley Flynn is ripe to experience her secret fantasies . . . and Dmitri Pratt wants nothing more than to fulfill them. Once inside the elite Club Sin in Las Vegas, Presley is nervous but excited—and determined to surrender to her every desire. Dmitri is her Master, and his touch is like fire. With each careful, calculated caress, he unleashes her wildest inhibitions, giving her unimagined pleasure.
Presley is different than the other submissives Dimitri has mastered. The BDSM lifestyle is new to her, and so are the games they play at Club Sin. From the start, Presley stirs emotions in him far beyond the raw purity between a dom and the perfect sub. For the ecstasy they share goes beyond the dungeon igniting a passion that claims the very depths of the heart.
MY REVIEW:
This was my first Stacey Kennedy book and I gotta say, I am totally digging it! I love the little disclaimer at the front of the book where Ms. Kennedy basically lets everyone know, “Hey, this is my world and how I run my house.” LOL It’s a fabulous introduction into Club Sin, and one I 100% approve of.
I loved these characters and had a fun time reading along. I wish it could have been longer, but the story was told with finesse and a lot of talent. The only thing that bothered me (and also the reason for a star removed) was the slow start to the book. Typically I’m a fan of action intro, but this one took a bit to get there. And the fact that they actually didn’t *penetrate* (Lol) until the last few pages was a bit odd for an erotic romance, so it tossed me off for a hot minute.
Outside of that, it was a great read and one I totally recommend. Four out of five stars for a great job!

This Man Confessed - Book 3 - Jodi Ellen Malpas - Release: July 2, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
The Manor, the very place where their passionate love affair began, fills with guests on what should be the happiest day of Ava and Jesse's lives. She has accepted that she'll never tame the fierceness in Jesse-and she doesn't want to. Their love is profound, their connection powerful, but just when she thinks that she's finally gotten beneath his guarded exterior, more questions arise, leading Ava to believe that Jesse Ward may not be the man she thinks he is. He knows too well how to take her to a place beyond ecstasy . . . but will he also drive her to the brink of despair? It's time for this man to confess.
MY REVIEW:
I’m torn on this series, and having this book closing it out. And I’m torn for a few valid reasons. Okay, first and foremost let me just get this out there: I could not put this series down. But, as I came to this book I found it easier to do. Despite my issues with it, I was fully engaged. The drama really had my breath catching and with each page turned, there was some new twist that literally had me squeezing my e-reader tighter. Yes, it was that angsty.
That being said, I have a few issues with this (these) books. One, the relationship these two are in is completely unhealthy. I have never had a hero and heroine that I have disliked so much or frowned upon so much in my entire reading life. That’s saying a bit, especially since Fifty Shades wasn’t so keen on the healthy relationships either. These two did more destruction to one another, hurt, and brought out the worst in each other more than any other couple I’ve read about or known.
Which leads to my second issue. One moment the heroine would be strong, standing up for something she believes in, and rightly putting the hero in his place. In the next second she’d be on her back, having sex, and nothing would be resolved. It led to another circle altogether with additional issues to arise. It was extremely frustrating and I again, a huge turn off.
The last issue was the writing. There was a lot of repetition and telling in this book, and I felt as if the two took me out of the character’s heads and reminded me I was merely reading the book, not experiencing it.
Outside of those issues though, again, I would say I had to keep reading, and had to see what was going to happen next. I really wish I liked these two characters more, but if I’m completely honest, the only reason I continued to turn the page was because it was like a train wreck and I couldn’t look away. I will check out more from this author in the future, although if the characters are like this, I doubt I’ll finish them.
All in all, I enjoyed this read. 3.5 stars out of 5.

She should have known that Jesse Ward is impossible to escape--and now he's back in her life, determined to remind her of the sensual pleasures they had shared. Ava is equally determined to get at the truth beneath this man's steely exterior. That means letting herself get close to the Lord of the Manor once more. And it's exactly where Jesse wants her--within touching distance...
MY REVIEW:
I’m torn on these book. And I’m torn for a few valid reasons. Okay, first and foremost let me just get this out there: I could not put these books down. Despite my issues with it, I was fully engaged, and actually had to wait (because I refused to put them down) until I was well into the third book in the series, before writing my review.

Here is the fiery story of what happens when two people surrender to a love so great it can heal the scars of the past and give way to a life of pure, rapturous ecstasy.
REVIEW:
I can see why this piece is popular and how Ms. Miller has moved into the publishing world with this riveting piece.
If you’re looking for a read that has high paced action and lots of smexy lines, this is for you. Miller really takes her series to a whole new level by including both perspectives, first the heroine in book 1, and now the hero, in book 2. It was nicely done and I felt very drawn to Ethan throughout this piece.
There were a few times I got snagged on the writing, however, but it wasn’t anything overly poor, just some hiccups along the way. I do like where this is headed and can’t wait to read more!
Three and a half stars for a good job.

Covert Seduction - Callie Croix - Released: January 14, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Navy SEAL Reid Galvin is back from hell and eager to find comfort in Becca Anderson's arms. He knows he hurt her when he cut contact during his deployment, so when his call interrupts her date with another man, he has only himself to blame. But he can't forget what she means to him—or the sexy email she sent him—and he won't miss this chance to claim her as his own.
It's been weeks since Becca heard from the man she thought she was involved with. So when Reid wants to take up where they left off as if nothing happened, she refuses. Then he rescues her from a first date gone very wrong, and she realizes she's not quite ready to let him go.
Reid and Becca have a lot to talk about, but since she's not listening, he's going to have to regain her trust another way—by bringing her most erotic fantasies to life. Making her surrender to pleasure just might be his most important mission.
REVIEW:
This was actually very touching! I loved the opening and found the entire story to be very sweet, sexy, and real. I loved the characters she developed and found each point made, one I gripped on to even more.
The suspense and danger in the piece was also great, but I do wish it would have given a bit more at the end, hence four stars instead of five, but the writing was on par, the romance hot and steamy, and the characters entirely loveable.
If you’re looking for something to keep you on the edge of your seat for both suspense and sexiness, then pick this one up today! Four out of five stars for a great job!

Simply Scandalous - Kate Pearce - Release: December 24, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK: After years of fighting on the continent, Richard Ross has finally returned to London to make peace with his father, and the erotic delights of his stepmother’s Pleasure House provide a welcome distraction for his war-weary heart. But he is shocked to encounter someone there whose resemblance to his lost love leaves him both tempted and tormented…
As a former spy, Violet LeNy has mastered the art of deception. But there is no disguising the heated passion that still burns between her and Richard, the man she once betrayed but who now is her only hope of survival. Soon she plans a scandalous game of seduction where sensual surrender is the ultimate pleasure…
REVIEW: The plot in this piece was great. It’s engaging, moves at a steady pace, and when the antagonist is finally revealed, surprising. I enjoyed watching it unfold and absolutely loved both romantic stories moving at a steady pace at the same time.
I’ve read Ms. Pearce’s pieces before but only got about three books into the series before having my attention drawn away. Picking up this piece, I now remember why. Now, before I jump into the why of giving this MS three stars, let me just say the plots overall in each of these books, are actually very good.
That being said, the writing in the stories frustrates me to the point where I almost want to stop reading. It’s not that she doesn’t write well, because obviously she does, it is more so a lot of it tends to be very passive for starters. I feel as if I’m reading and watching from afar, instead of being right in the scene with the characters. Second, a lot of the details seem to be reversed when it comes to some scenes. Ms. Pearce will give us details into something that completely doesn’t apply to the story, yet turn around on something that is actually needed, and rush through it. It was that way with every single love scene. They were extremely rushed, to the point of say, two paragraphs from the first touch and kiss, to the final act, and even then sometimes that was skipped over as well. Reading a romance, I want to see that build up, want to see the confliction of feelings, the tension and instead in this piece I got none of it and it fell flat for me as a reader. By the end of the story, I was very frustrated in the sense that I felt as if I didn’t see the connection between the characters as promised.
I do think that the plot which unfolds is again, very good and I hope that we’ll get to see more of a connection in future books. Three stars for an overall good read.

Bonds of Trust - Wicked Play book 1 - Lynda Aicher - Release: November 26, 2012
ABOUT THE BOOK:
After ending her passionless marriage, Cali Reynolds is eager to live out her forbidden fantasies. Her first step is attending new members' night at The Den, the most exclusive sex club in town. Perhaps here she can find a man who understands her desire to be dominated
At first, Jake McCallister thinks Cali has come to his club for the wrong reasons. But when he discovers she is seeking fulfillment after years of denial, he's intrigued—and takes it upon himself to initiate her into the pleasures she's been missing.
Her first encounter with Jake is everything Cali has always craved, and more; she's not prepared for the feelings he inspires in her. And Jake is just as surprised by his overwhelming attraction to Cali. As their play intensifies, so does their bond. Now, Jake doesn't want anyone but Cali—but is he ready to officially claim her? And will she submit to being his forever?
REVIEW: I was pleasantly surprised with this piece. It was gripping, held just the right amount of angst, and wasn’t over the top with BDSM. I’ve read a few reviews on this and have seen many mark it down based on the more “vanilla” approach to the BDSM, but I honestly don’t see the author holding back at all. The scenes are typical of other BDSM books I’ve read and yet, the author doesn’t go over board with them. It’s all very smooth and extremely classy.
The growing relationship between Jack and Cali is great. I could have done without the immediate acceptance she seemed to have to the scene and her almost lack of training, but the couple was very sweet together and seemed to bring out the right parts in one another. The only other thing I didn’t really understand was how most of the BDSM scenes were more for a submissive who would have been defiant. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but again, the story was very gripping.
From what I can tell is this looks to be book one in a series and it’s one I’m looking forward to following along. Ms. Aicher has a way with her words that draws you into heart of the characters. She is one to be watched and one who has now been added to my “stalking list.”

Release Me - J. Kenner - Release: January 1, 2013
ABOUT THE BOOK:
For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard “no” and a fiery woman who says “yes” on her own terms.
He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.
Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.
Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.
But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.
Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.
REVIEW: This was my first book by J. Kenner and it definitely won’t be my last. I am bound by my honesty to people following my reviews, so I’m going to give it to you straight.
I was a bit leery heading into this seeing as it has had so much comparison to 50 Shades. It’s not like I didn’t like 50 Shades, cause I did – to a point, but more so because there seem to be a LOT of books coming out right now all claiming the same thing. This book is very similar to all those books; however, it is written very nicely and much, much better than the original.
That being said I took off a star as there seemed to be a few things missing from the character development in the story, but I’m hoping all of it will come back in book 2, as the ending simply gives that fact away. At least I hope so…too many ties are left undone at the end.
The romance and erotic scenes between these two were very hot and I love how Damien has been able to break down the self-conscious tendencies she seems to have from the beginning of the story. I would love to see more depth of the characters instead of so much sex, but still it was all very well written and did keep me on the edge of my seat, much like Hurricane Sandy did.
I give it four out of five stars for a job well done and look forward to adding J. Kenner to my stalking pile.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won't be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her… down to the very soul.
REVIEW: Ms. Young hit the mark with this one. I was leery walking into it as there has been so much hype on Fifty Shades and with this one being compared to it, I wondered what I was getting myself into. It’s not that I didn’t like Fifty Shades, that’s not the case at all. It was more so that I didn’t want to read a book that was JUST LIKE that one.
Ms. Young didn’t disappoint. It was very well built and I found myself thinking on the characters throughout the day. The angst had a great build up and the plot was very well placed.
Now, the only problem I had with this piece was the passive tone in the writing. It seemed as if there were a lot of extra words that didn’t get to the point; HOWEVER, it still didn’t distract too much from an enjoyable read.
If you want a piece to read that will turn up the fire on a cold night, then this is the one for you. It’s one you won’t be able to put down or forget for a long time.
Four out of five stars for a great job!

As they fight to stay alive and catch the stalker, they struggle to resolve the guilt of their past pleasures. But they can’t deny that what was once a spark is now a flame burning out of control. To possess Delaney — body and soul — Tyler must heal her pain and thwart the evil that’s a mere breath behind her…
THE REVIEW:
I wanted to love this book and I really tried hard to do just such…however, I had a very hard time finishing even finishing it. Before I get into the nuts and bolts of the review, let me say that I am a HUGE fan of Ms. Black and thus, this review breaks my heart to write.
I have followed along, quite stalkerish if you ask me, the Wicked Lovers series since she released the novels. I found each on riveting, hanging on to every word. I had hoped to find the same with this book but while the ones before were smooth and surprising, Mine To Hold felt choppy, predictable, and at times cliché.
I honestly do not know how to get into describing the characters and the plot without giving the entire book away so I’ll say this. While the plot was good, the scenes seemed to drag it down. Some of the words the characters said seemed cliché and had me wondering why the author wanted them to come across as such. Truth be told, Tyler came across as a crude jerk at times. However, what I will say is the love was undeniable written between Tyler and Del. It was swoon worthy and very sweet.
I gave it three stars out of five due to the clichés and writing; however, I do hope the next release will be as good as the first five books Ms. Black wrote for this series. I am diligently crossing me fingers in hopes of.

Courting Justice - Brenda Jackson - (Madaris Family series) - Release: May 29, 2012
About
the book: Winning a high-profile case has given a huge boost to New
York attorney DeAngelo Di Meglio's career—and his love life. Too bad fame
hasn't helped him win the woman he's been infatuated with for years. Tired of
waiting and wondering, Angelo books a trip to the singles-only Bahamas resort
where Peyton Mahoney is celebrating her thirtieth birthday. And just as he
hoped, when they finally connect, the chemistry is mind-blowing….
Two weeks in paradise has given Peyton some sizzling memories. That's all she expects—or wants—from a legendary player like Angelo. Having grown up on Chicago's South Side, she is worlds away from his life of privilege. Then a controversial case puts them on opposing sides. And as sexual tension spills over from the courtroom to the bedroom, there's no way they can ignore the undeniable attraction….
The Review: Ms. Jackson builds scenes with such scorching intensity; I felt at times that I was in need of a cold shower.
Angelo and Peyton have a way of lighting up the pages and drawing you into their whirl winded romance. The characters built by Jackson are believable and you feel every constricting emotion that rolls through them. I found the courtship extremely touching and while at times there were a few cheesy lines, the author outdid herself with such a well written book.
The only thing I would caution on is while this book is part of a series, it doesn’t say so. I wished that I had known it was before I dived into it, yet the book could act as a stand-alone. I am curious about the rest of the series now and look forward to diving under the covers and finding out more with Ms. Jackson.
Over all I give this book four out of five stars for a job well done.
